will the police stop you
I bored so have been watching police interceptors and got thinking.if you were suspected of speeding and a unmarked police car followed you and done a check on your car would it show your a fac holder and if so would it need to be a arv that approached you.as said I'm bored
Re: will the police stop you
I would say no.
They conduct a dynamic risk assessment ( what we used to call common sense ) and conduct the stop appropriately.
The FAC marker shows you are the LEGAL holder of firearms. Its the illegal possession of firearms they are more concerned with.

In essence nothing to concern with. Sometimes I can't even get my local police force to be remotely interested in if its a new action. All they care is caliber and type. Almost like for the most part they'd rather leave you alone.breacher wrote:I would say no.

Oddly enough, we have a similar problem at times. Our FEO's eyes glaze over as we wax lyrical about the finer points of the sighting system on our 1905 Carl Gustaf and the unique nature of the brass used for the buttplate...

With me it was something more serious. It was pointing out that listing my VZ MARS as semi auto was incorrect and could cause a problem in the future for obvious reasons.meles meles wrote:Oddly enough, we have a similar problem at times. I doubt a traffic copper would have a scooby-doo what you were talking about even if pushed on the matter. Pretty bad if your FLD won't change it thoughSixshot6 wrote:With me it was something more serious. OP - I've been told different stories by different people (including police officers) about the information which is both automatically displayed about you from an ANPR ping and from a PNC search, everything from theya knowa nottin', to they know everything your FLD knows including your cabinet location and every condition on your FAC!
To be honest though, if you're getting a tug for a traffic offence its unlikely they'd be bothered even if your FAC/SGC status did come up. Might be a different story if you've become 'wanted' for some reason, especially if violence was involved though.

They don't have to check a computer - if they're behind my car, they already have a pretty good idea.......
