Hi,
Someone on here (can't remember who, sorry) gave me some advice on what size and type of shell house bullets (cast) to use on my Handi Rifle (.308).
So I after that gentleman (or lady) to stand up and make their self known again please. Tried casting my own with a Lee mould and too be fare they're not all coming out consistently good, so its a waste of time IMHO. I would also get a good working knowledge of how accurate the rifle is.
Thanks
Rob

Re: Boolits
Probably me :)
These for indoor sub-sonic
http://www.shellhousebulletcompany.co.u ... ow/4199900
Or these for outdoor with a gas check
http://www.shellhousebulletcompany.co.u ... ow/3485564
ShellHouse are in Lancashire, not Durham :)
DodgyRog does a nice "Soupcan" boolit which works nicely without a gas check (3.4gr N310) or a heavier round nosed "Loverin" boolit with a gas check.

Re: Boolits
People kept talking about how easy it was to cast bullets. I bought a couple of Lee molds for calibers I shoot, a bottom-pour pot, and scrounged a bucket of wheel weights.
I found that the temperature of the mold blocks was critical, and if I didn't strike the sprue and dump the bullet at the exact proper moment the bullet would stick in the mold. The temperature of the lead was also an issue; apparently my pot's regulator operates within generous limits.
After several HUNDRED pours, I had maybe three useable bullets.
Mostly, I think this shows one reason I don't walk and chew gum at the same time... there's a definite knack to the process.
