I was going to put this in the shotgun section only but though more people would read it here.
I was thinking of making some in preference to lead slugs as they would be possibly better to use on a non-slug range due to their make up of wax and lead pellets.
Don't know really but I do have a re-print of an old home guard manual which describes making such slugs, mixed with the original pellets, as an expedient. Suggests they make very effective man-stoppers though I don't know if it was ever tested!

We only ever shoot slug at paper/card targets to avoid ricochet problems.

I was thinking that because it is wax and pellets it would break up on contact with steel plate.
