Measuring the thread size of a moderator
Does anybody know how to measure the thread size of a moderator. I sold the rifle a little while ago and I can't seem to find out what size thread it is.
Rifle was a Weatherby varmint 22-250 and the mod is a Roedale ultra if that helps at all, I am sure it won't.
Cheers

Do you have analog or digital calipers?
Or a maplin near by?

Re: Measuring the thread size of a moderator
Measure the diameter of the threads initially, this will usually give you the standard size. To be sure count the threads over a given distance, 1/4" for example, then multiply to get threads per inch.
Re: Measuring the thread size of a moderator
Okay will give it a try, when you say diameter I assume you mean the distance spanning the hole from one side to the other?
Re: Measuring the thread size of a moderator
That's it mate, it should be close to one of the standard sizes
Re: Measuring the thread size of a moderator
Measure the hole and then use a "Thread Gauge", that's what they are for. Then use your Zeus chart.

Re: Measuring the thread size of a moderator
Hey Demonic, I measured it and it appears to be 17.62 and it is either 6 or 7 threads per 1/4 inch , I think 7?
Sorry this isn't my kind of thing.

Re: Measuring the thread size of a moderator
It could be an 11/16 or, at a push, 3/4. Sounds like 24-28 TPI
As it's a Roedale Delta it's likely it's 5/8x24 UNEF.
Can you measure with the other side of the calipers in the hole?
