Already done - unlike my 2010 renewal when I hadn't signed those from 2005 wtf

I'm glad you got your renewed certificates back, even though a little bit late; your experience does not bode well for those whose renewals are due in the next 12 months, however -- including mine. I'll get everything ready well before receipt of the three month expiry notice, and hand it in within 24 hrs. Then over to them...

btw, I will be retaining my FAC until they give me the new one...such an ESSENTIAL document, thanks to VCRA 2006!

David.

As I uderstand it, renewal reminders are suposed to be sent out around 12 weeks pre-expiry, I received mine barely six weeks before, but I had had my forms etc. ready for weeks.

From what I understand, the entire system within Police Scotland is log-jammed with a backlog of renewals, variations and grant - pre-empt the sytem and contact your FEO about your renewal before the reminder reaches you.

God forbid!

If ... ... Airgun licensing is brought in, I will get rid of my two air rifles, I just don't want the extra hassle for something I haven't used in almost three decades.

What do you mean "If"?

It's passed Stage 2 consent. Just a matter of Stage3 to go & it's AirWEAPONS not Airguns.
License to buy/own...illegal to use in your own back garden....etc. etc.
It'll kill off the new blood to shooting sports in Scotland.

My very many airGUNS will be heading south of the border...unless I have a tragic boating accident & they are lost at sea.

I may be wrong, but I thought that a FAC doubled as an airgun licence. Don't have the draft legislation to hand - anyone?

Probably won't help. I had everything organised about 5 months before it was due and hey presto - still late. When I contacted my FLO he said it wouldn't be dealt with any earlier because of the back log.
