Example certs/sections
Does anyone think it would be useful to have a bunch of example certs scanned in, with only the non-sensitive information obviously? Or just small sections.
We get a lot of questions about slots, calibre requests etc, if there were some examples of what people have on theirs, calibre, ammo, restrictions, land wording etc I think it could be handy.
It may also help towards getting our varying forces in line if we're all adding for the same thing.
I don't mind scanning sections of mine for reference . I'm sure it's all legal.......
Whaddya think?

Bloody good idea. Makes it much harder for the police to impose arbitrary restrictions if you can show them concrete proof that it's already been done.

It was when applying for a muzzle-loading revolver that I got the idea, I just didn't know what to put down!
When mine comes back I'll scan it and upload the relevant bits; conditions, ammo and slots

While it seems like a good idea in practice departments like Durham will continue to do whatever they want. I've lost count of how many times BASC have "taken Durham to task" in the last two to three years over their inclusion in form 201 of a request for a GPs letter for all SGC & FAC applications and renewals as well as giving them blanket permission to access your medical records at any time and agreeing to your GP noting that you hold a license in your medical record.
Their latest one is showing all SGC applicants a diagram of a shotgun cartridge and then asking them to name all 8 of its component parts.

That would all make good (if infuriating) material for the thread!

When guns are outlawed, only Outlaws will have guns
Re: Example certs/sections
Does it matter? The whole point is to try and stop people from getting through by giving them arbitrary tests so they can fail them because for some reason legal gun ownership is bad (thanks McKay...).bradaz11 wrote:shell/hullphaedra1106 wrote: Their latest one is showing all SGC applicants a diagram of a shotgun cartridge and then asking them to name all 8 of its component parts.

If people were able to name 8 components, they'd move it up to 9.
