I Rob,

I got mine only a couple of weeks overdue but only after badgering Licensing dept.. Seems the cop who was supposed to action the home visit had the paperwork sitting on her desk for almost 3 months without even looking at it.

Don't forget to empty all ammo into a plastic bag first if they come and want to count your holding. Cop who came to see me took my word on how much was there. ;)
I've never been asked really how much I have, South yorkshire police even gives up after an hour trying to figure out if most dealers are holding as much as they should do. Thank god, I never knew how lucky I was. I never ever want to live under Police Scotland as long as I live.

My FEO is finally coming to do my FAC/SGC renewal inspection on Wednesday 13th, my certificate expire on 5th June (3 weeks and 2 days). Wonders - will Police Scotland mage to deliver in time?

Luckily my son's certificates totally duplicate mine if there is a delay, but of course such delays shouldn't happen.

No sign of my present one-for-one in the system!

Great news as I put it in three weeks ago...and they've not lost it as it was a Form 202 by e-mail & the woman two weeks back "found it" when I phoned.
Called today - zilch showing up

Needed it to collect a new Mosin Nagant for a show this weekend too! Pesky Russians ain't gonna shoot themselves (unless they're on the vodka playing roulette...)

We find a letter to the Chief Plod, cc. local MP, bemoanin' the fact that their efficiency targets won't be met if they don't extract a digit usually results in the aforesaid digit being extracted PDQ...

Rob, maybe yours is making an extra effort in order to keep his job as a civi FEO?

However, still no word from mine as to when my inspection will be.

My civvie FEO is extremely over-worked. I've always found him to be effective and efficient, the trouble is clearly about his pay-grade, and I suspect it starts "In-House".

My inspection today went very well, a very positive experience. I have had the same FEO through three renewals 2005, 2010, 2015 plus my son's grant last year and two variations, I have complaints whatsoever.

My FAC expires on 5/6/2015, I have been assured that my new FAC will be with my before that date - going by past experience of Aberdeen I'm fairly confident all will be well.

I'll post an update in due course.

Nice one - did he ask for you to hand over your FAC?

Had my renewal inspection tonight and from mine and the inspecting PC's perspective it went without a hitch. The PC was really great and as he's looking to get back into shooting I gently pushed him into the direction of Strath as a potential club! ;)

Another plus point was that he never asked for my current certificate and he apologised in advance for likely delay caused by Glasgow...

What, no over officious, bullying, goose stepping copper just trying to take your guns away?! Sheesh, who'd a thunk it....!
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!
