Re: All shooting training in the UK is illegal
I'm surprised that nothings actually come of this, or that the NRA or NSRA did not pick up on it as essentially all of their guidelines are how to use a firearm responsibly and safely.
I wasn't into shooting in 2000 when this came out, so it may have come up at the time, but surprisingly broad terms for another piece of guidelines, and regardless of the nature of the act (Terrorism) it has real implications if someone wanted to mess with our sport. :/

Don't worry, when the tories rip up the Human Rights Act and write their own version it will all be far clearer.

Yes, because the Human Rights Act passed by Blair, who we all know and cherish for his devotion to the rights and freedoms of the British people, completely introduced the concept of Human Rights to this country for the first time and any sense of rights and freedoms was only felt after Parliament passed that most sacred law, right?Egg on Leggs1 wrote:Don't worry, when the tories rip up the Human Rights Act and write their own version it will all be far clearer.

Slippery slope.HALODIN wrote:The context is terrorism - The only time it would be a problem is if you knowingly taught someone how to shoot, who you knew or suspected was linked with terrorism.

I can't disagree with that. The definition of who is being terrorised can change over time...

I would need to be careful then, I am going to a IPSC black badge course on Saturday.

Right, I am comforted that prisoners are warm while old people die of hypothermia and that terrorists and their families live in state provided splendour while patients lie on trolleys in hospital corridors. Praise be the Bliaralah, may his magnificence always furnish our morals.Outsider wrote:Yes, because the Human Rights Act passed by Blair, who we all know and cherish for his devotion to the rights and freedoms of the British people, completely introduced the concept of Human Rights to this country for the first time and any sense of rights and freedoms was only felt after Parliament passed that most sacred law, right?Egg on Leggs1 wrote:Don't worry, when the tories rip up the Human Rights Act and write their own version it will all be far clearer.

Don't forget that the NHS seems to have its fair share of nurses with forged qualifications. That Filipino that wen't down this week had forged qualifications. They say its secure, but an illegal immigrant was working in bucks palace with a passport with their picture glued in. Doesn't it fill you with glee the possibility that there might be 100's, maybe even 1000's. I'll go with that as the administration of the NHS doesn't fill me with hope to begin with. That is why we should have been training more UK nurses not just a decade ago but two decades ago. Sticking a plaster on a deep knife wound never works.Egg on Leggs1 wrote:Right, I am comforted that prisoners are warm while old people die of hypothermia and that terrorists and their families live in state provided splendour while patients lie on trolleys in hospital corridors. On topic, I'm not surprised they wrote legislation this bad. Our best hope is they never act on it in order to not quite show how incompetent they are. They tell us we'd get chimps for paying penuts. The chimps would have been a better bet, plus less poo would get slung in the commons too.

Extremist views = terrorist!
The EU has recently stated that those holding views opposing immigration are "extremists".
