Is the bullet shorter or seated deeper and if the former is to reduce the range it is capable of?snayperskaya wrote:Former East Germany (DDR) short range 7.62x54r tracerSixshot6 wrote:

It is the same 124gr bullet as used in the 7.62x39 round and was used by the East Germans as training ammunition as it had a shorter range and reduced recoil. It isn't very accurate but when rattled through a PKM by new recruits that didn't matter apparently. It was actually produced in Hungary for the East Germans.Sixshot6 wrote:Is the bullet shorter or seated deeper and if the former is to reduce the range it is capable of?snayperskaya wrote:Former East Germany (DDR) short range 7.62x54r tracerSixshot6 wrote:

OK, so supposing that it's all standard tracer and not section 5 lucky bag (as mentioned earlier in the thread) we just need a willing RFD and some punters. How can we confirm that its all legit?DanTheMan wrote:It's surprisingly cheap to import a pallet from Europe, and these guys have 54R tracer in stock.....>LINK<
Like Charlotte said though, what happens when some "Surprises" in the batch? Then it becomes a problem for said RFD.Mark R wrote:If there is an RFD willing to order I am up for it, also interested in the 7.62x39 tracer that they sell, and I know of others in my club that would be also!

I have just sent an email to one of the UKs biggest surplus ammo suppliers to see if there is a possibility of getting this stuff brought in, once I hear back i'll let you know![]()
will send a few more later, spread the net wider so to speak.
