The bit that gets me at the end is where United Airlines say's they need Section 5 authority to handle firearms at Birmingham airport. That is for prohibited firearms and as they are just bringing shotguns unless they were short barrel's that were repeaters that are pump and semi (other actions fall under the normal 12/24 rule) or just short barrel side by side that they were trying to pass as section 2 (once again short barrel doubles that have been made that way can go on a FAC), it seems to me like the shotguns they want to bring in are sgc (would have to be for those kind of shoots) and it might not be all the Home Office's fault. That or the Torygraph didn't do the research properly when quoting the spokesman.

Reads like it was the airline that caused the problem KISS Go with a different company?!

Strange. The shooting season has just ended and it's seven months or so till next season. So is this all done and dusted or are they talking next season? Bad journalism?

American airline: "Can we have section 5 authority to move shotguns please?"
Home Office: "p*** off, you only need section 2, show again correct paperwork"
Airline: "Goddamn Limeys won't let us have our gunz"

I used to beat at the Hatton Grange shoot and I helped to build some of the release pens there as part of a college project.

That sounds the most likely scenario. And yes it does read bad journalism. My god the Telegraph has gone down hill.Gaz wrote:American airline: "Can we have section 5 authority to move shotguns please?"
