I had a long hard look at doing this to my PSS stock last year.
In the end I bought an AICS stock and sold the PSS stock for £300.

Re: Inletting for Detachable Magazine
I recently inletted a B&C stock with an integral aluminium bedding block, the DBM had to be opened forward and moved down approximately 4,6mm from the existing floor plate position and yes a mill does make things a lot quicker for material removal however the job could probably be completed without use of the mill with some imagination.
I spotted an article recently about someone who did the same job with a pillar drill and 10,0mm long series cutter and plunged the cuts, it took him a morning however it seemed to come out well, it is on the internet somewhere.

I'm looking at using some rasps and files for the actual mag well, rough rasp for the major material removal to within a couple of mm of the line I need to get to and then progressively finer files until I reach the required template markings that I'll make on the stock.
I'm undecided how to go at the rest right now, but I'll figure something out... possibly some fine chisels to work out the material to the correct depth...
The saving grace in this I think is that it shouldn't affect the accuracy of the rifle since its not affecting the bedding of the rifle, as long as I can keep the correct tension going through the pillar mounts, everything should be fine...
Just gotta be patient and little-by-little... :)
