Just noticed the date - WTF is the Firearm blog doing plugging a 6 year old story!

Admittedly, not dropping the mag on a misfire is a bad habit of mine. Must correct it.

These sorts of things do happen - I have investigated a couple myself, but it isn't the gun-makers fault, it's invariably operator error.

Seems there's much doubt about the story, certainly with any semi auto rifle I'm using the mag is usually out right away in event of a stoppage.

It's a sad story, but so easily preventable .... and probably not unique, either.

I suspect, if this story is true, and I don't believe it is, it's a culmination of factors....
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

To be fair, I was drilled for 22 years not to drop the mag (and 'get back in the fight' asap) so it's a hard habit to break.

I'm not sure I'd trust a solicitor with such poor spelling, grammar and the inability to stick to one way of staying things; clip, magazine?
