Windage adjustable mounts

#1 Post by Dougan »

I need some windage adjustable mounts to fit a picatinny rail - 10 MOA would do, or 20 MOA would be perfect...

...any recommendations or advice would be appreciated.

Just fit Burris Zee Rings. The inserts allow you to offset for wind-age or elevation. They are the only rings that I use.

Thanks Steve - Looks a good option...would the 'pos-align' kit be the way to go? And do you know how many MOA the 010" and 020" kits give?...also where do you get yours from please?

The .010" give 10 moa offsetting the .020" give 20 moa offsetting. Work out which height rings you need from the Burris website and then order the correct item. Be aware that for reasons unknown the extra high 30mm rings are nigh on impossible to get out of the USA. Some suppliers say they are ITAR controlled.
I got mine from jjk shooting but he is now an e-bay shop only and will not reply to telephone calls.
Brownells should be able to get them but there are issues with their supply.
Try Norman Clarke or Mik Mak at Dolphin.
My last set were bought in Camp Perry last year and I shall stock up this year when I go over.

NB: 10 thou offset inserts are only available for the 30 mm rings. There would seem to be an opportunity for someone to produce some 15 thou and 20 thou offset inserts for 30 mm rings. There would also seem to be an opportunity for 34/35/36 mm versions of the Signature Rings.

Thanks again Steve - As I've got no adjustment to the left at all, I'll go for the .020", and the lowest mount they do (I'm already using 'low mounts' so shouldn't be an issue).

JCS - I've got a 1" tube, but thanks for the heads-up.

Cheers Gents; much appreciated cheers

I got some Burris rings with 20 min inserts a few weeks back - I also got a bore scope (unfortunately a cheap one), and have to confess I had a bit of trouble setting the inserts up properly in the rings - when I tried it at the zero range last weekend it was way off (don't know if it was my incompetence or the crap bore scope?), but it only took seven shots to get them in the right position...

...which has left the elevation as it was and given me tons of windage either way :good:

Thanks again for the advice cheers

Why rifle are you using these for? I'm guessing one with a non-standard type mount. Its a ruger isn't it?

It's on a No.4 - The Armalon mount fixes partly to where you stick a strip-clip in...maybe the one on ours isn't perfectly straight (?)...

...anyway the new mounts and inserts have worked a treat :good:

You have an armalon mount? Does it hold zero? I only ask as my dad had no luck with a mount he got from the US. On a side note thanks to ITAR and Numerich's weird policies my dad couldn't get their no 32 scope repro at a reasonable price. Then he might have built an in the spirit No 4 clone. I guess a real one will be his retirement gift, if they're still available for less than 4K when that happens.
