https://ukshootingnews.wordpress.com/20 ... l-charges/A registered firearms dealer and antiques trader awaiting trial after being accused of illegally possessing banned pistols died in unexplained circumstances in January.
I think, based on the scanty information I got out of the police and the CPS, that Ray Mills was probably innocent. The police National Ballistics Intelligence Service have been attacking the antiques trade for a couple of years now (remember all that hoo-haa last year about prohibiting sales of antiques to people with convictions or cautions? Result of a NABIS publicity campaign) and I think Mills was only nicked to further that campaign.
Of course, he might have been a gangland armourer who was guilty as sin. However, the Met Police refused to engage with me at all even though it was them who charged Mills, and the CPS wouldn't even release the indictment, though they did grudgingly hand over the bare act and section for each of the charges after I pressed them. Silence is the default response of the State when it knows it's ballsed up.
