Hi all
looking to slug the bore of my nagant, trouble is no fishing tackle shops for miles, does anyone have a few spare and i will pay for postage and packaging

Hi all
tried a few bits of lead down the 7.62x54 bore, i seem to be getting various sizes when measuring around the weight.
ranging from 3.03 to 3.13 being the widest part, think i must not be doing it right? or is this the norm
again any advice appreciated

the slugs arrived today, thanks again,
think part of the problem might be the dowel isnt thick enough?

DON'T use a wood rod, trust me you will live to regret it.
Steel rod, with tape if you are worried, once the slug is started into the bore a couple of inches stuff some paper towelling down and pound/push away on that, the paper stops the rod digging into the slug.

I am just the opposite to you Dromia. The problem with anything long, either wood or steel is it will flex as you push it down through the bore and could damage the crown so I use 8" lengths of Oak, once the slug is engaged I just add them one after the next gently tapping them down with a lump of wood.
