|LANTAC KAM Mounting System.
LANTAC Presents its new Keyed Accessory Mounting system (KAM).
KAM can be used for the attachment of accessories to all types of surfaces, manufactured from a variety of materials. Metal, Polymer and Composites can all be mounted onto without any damage from galling, slipping or splintering.
KAM's unique locking system is 100% integrated into the accessory and only applies compressive force to the mounting surface.
Due to its unique design a powerful force can be applied without any danger of damaging the mounting surface area.
KAM uses a low parts count for accessories and has a simple / fast to machine hole and slot pattern that also gives design and styling flexibility to the manufacturer.
KAM is Patent Pending but Free to License for manufacturing purposes, with the only requirement being the inclusion of the KAM logo on the item manufactured with its features.
Different adapter plates and locking 'ROTO' nuts can be used to fix the same accessories to tubular / curved surfaces so the system represents true flexibility across all types of design.
More information on adapter plates and nut designs to follow. See the first video here:

Re: |LANTAC KAM Mounting System.
It's cool and all but we've got keymod and that other one, do we need another standard?
Is it that yours is free to license and the others aren't?
I understand that yours is a much nicer design and all that...

Keep designing and trying to make things different better lighter. You can't just stand still and accept that's it.

Re: |LANTAC KAM Mounting System.
Well quite so, just wondered what the state of play was with the other standards, licensing etc.
Re: |LANTAC KAM Mounting System.
Contact the other manufacturers of those standards. I have no idea what they are doing.
Its quite likely that KAM will also fit with M-Lok if we reduce the diameter of the insert slightly.
M-Lok nuts have to be set just right and bear onto the inside surface of the hole in the handguard. If you have polymer or composite your are going to damage that area if you over torque.
KAM has non of those problems. Its also cheaper than Keymod to manufacture, it direct mounts so no sliding and can be mounted to a curved surface with a different adapter plate and nuts.
Its much more flexible as compared to the other two.
Do we need another standard? Probably not.
Did we want to design our own because we thought the original two had limitations? Yes.
Will it become the new standard? Don't know, don't care. Its what we are using.
Will loads of other manufacturers pick it up? Don't know, don't care. Its what we are using.
