Bear with me here as i've never bothered with the whole Facebook thing........why do people add "friends" that they do not know or will ever meet.
I can understand friends and family that live miles away or overseas but not the complete strangers thing.

Its like everything else if you use it responsibly its not a problem. If you are going to use it you need to take a little time to familiarise yourself with how it works.

How many people on here said ten year ago forums no I don't think so why would I go online and declare to the world that I am interested in guns and reloading.
I use Facebook every day. I use Skype every day. I use team viewer regularly and share my computer with groups of people in America the UK Holland Italy. I use team viewer to access there computers. I have a drop box on my computer that is shared with people in the USA the UK and Holland it up dates every day we all have access to it. Iv done this for years and renewed my FAC along the way. Like I said a load of tosh. You guys need to drag yourself into the real world.

in a way its a bit like meeting up with ppl on forums etc.

facebook, you have games that require you to add ppl who play the same game to do things in them, or constantly add up friends who play the game. so thats one way that i added friends a few years ago....

the other thing is that you meet folk out and about, for me thru airsoft was a main thing, these people all get added so you can talk to them about the common interest, and go to games together etc

then you have coworkers, in past and present jobs

then you have people mates and friends from actual normal socialising, you then make friends with friends of friends and circles grow

and lastly (smallest group in my case) actual family members.

There are several FB Groups that are connected with my work. Great for advice, networking and passing work about. Some great Gun FB pages and Groups. I don't ever add strangers but I do add people I've never met.

I'll stick to phoning my friends or meeting up with them for a beer I think.

I'd love to know the facts around this, sounds more like an urban myth to me.
Would the police really go to such lengths unless you were already questionable?
They have to find you on Facebook, assuming you're visible and your friends list is available they'd then have to check all of your friends individually, cross checking each with the PND.
Would they?

Maybe the bloke concerned was able to overturn that revocation and get his licence renewed, but I'd sooner not even risk it, myself.

Sounds like a load of baloney to me. I have lots of friends on face book mainly family who live in Australia-Italy etc. People who I work with who are Indian. Japanese. Scottish. Pakistani. Lots of them are devout Muslims and there pages reflect this. I'm surprised I have not been arrested what a load of tosh.

Have you followed the link, as posted by Gaz earlier, and by me, below, Alpha? I think, before writing it off as baloney (or tosh), you should at least have the courtesy to do that much.
