Fylde Rifles

#1 Post by beesleya09 »

Hi, I am a new member here and am looking for anybody in the Fylde area, or anybody who specifically holds a membership for Blackpool and Fylde Full-Bore rifle and pistol club to gain information from. I notice that from the majority of posters I am a youngling in this sport at the mere age of 17, however I am eager to learn and have had a lifelong passion for firearms and am at the age in which I am considering applying for an FAC, however must be a member of a club first. Anybody willing to just chat and help me out with general information about applying, experience for younger shooters etc would be greatly appreciated, thank-you.

Welcome to the forum beesleya09, it is always good to see a young/aspiring shooter sign up and the future of our sports is in the hands of people like yourself. I have no ideas when it comes to Fylde so hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be along in a minute to point you in the right direction.

Thank-you ovenpaa for the welcome, I have been surprised reading in the forums how few young people participate in the sport!

Unfortunately I am unable to reply to your PM Watcher, I only just signed up to the forum today so don't yet have the required permissions for the PM facility, however I have read and acknowledged your message. If there is any other way in which I would be able to speak to you about this instead of over this forum then I'd be glad too. Thank-you for the help.

Hi The Event, this is extremely helpful I have so many questions! First off though, I sent an e-mail to the clubs e-mail address on Sunday and still am yet to hear back and was wondering whether this was due to it not being read or am I simply being impatient? Also, if there is any way you could aid me in organizing to join the club or coming down to one of the shooting nights then that would be immensely helpful. Thank-you for your helpfulness!

You'll find, young ooman, that most club secretaries are grumpy old codgers that haven't fully grasped modern tekkernoloji. Typically, afore he can respond to your email, he'll have to get a grand child to fire up his pc and print the email off, then post it to him so that he can have the pleasure of opening the envelope and reading the message over his breakfast. The reply will often be hand written and posted into the floppy disc drive slot of his 486DX pc, never to be seen again...

Beesley,

Sounds like The Event can help you; I'll 'wait out'. Get in touch if you can't get any joy and we'll see about getting you sorted at Altcar.
