I'll fight the lot of you for it!!!! bangbang.........seriously though what are the numbers on the headstamp?, and the tip colour (black or black/red?) because if its what I think it is!..........
If it's Soviet and is black/red then he's a very naughty boy as that would be B32 or API so section 5, black tip is B30 armour piercing so also section 5, tracer is usually green tip in Soviet loadings

I didn't want to post that on an open forum!.

Didn't want to comment either. Take it back to the dealer.

Just thinking out loud. What is the possibility of a group buy of 54R tracer? Is it worth talking to an importer if we can commit to a reasonable amount. I'd take 500 as I mainly use tracer on the ranges that I shoot at (that wouldn't last very long but hey, limits and all)

I reckon we'd need to get to 10,000 to make it worth while. And be able to find an importer. It should be about as its currently in use in at least two different wars.

I've already looked into importing a pallet load of ammo.
The sourcing and importing is easy.
It's the finding somewhere to receive it and store it for distribution that I've had a problem with.

It would appear it is civilian T-46 tracer ammo,188 factory code (Novosibirsk) and 1972 dated, the production date is far to recent to be Russian military black tipped AP as that stuff finished in 1940-ish to when the Soviets standardized the black over red tipped API.......so all good.

Charlotte.....I have spoken to one of the UKs biggest surplus ammo suppliers about 54r tracer and as said early the problem is it is all mixed in with API at the warehouses and getting someone to sort it out is problematic apparently.

Great idea....wish I'd suggested it first...

Who's the main UK dealer for 7.62x54 / 7.62x53 mil-surp ammo?

We need a friendly RFD who wants a cut. Surely there must be one of those around...
