It's an interesting idea but I do think a trigger should be for just one thing.

Sorry but I don't think a trigger operated system should be allowed at all, I think its a very dangerous way to get round the rules, I have a SGC and its a good gun the leaver is a safe way to re charge the bolt. My opinion

IMHO I still think that self loading rifles should be allowed (as well as ones with a 'trigger operated system') if someone is deemed responsible, safe enough and has good reason to hold a section 1 licence.
I don't think that the mars system is any more dangerous than a lever release system. After all, I hope everyone would have the muzzle in a safe direction at all times even if their finger was outside the trigger guard or not.

Exactly, it's the fundamental rule of safe shooting, it should be no more dangerous than any type of action. A guy shoots one in CSR, I have no objection with him shooting it next to me or even doing a run down when it's loaded with safety on.

Having owned both an SGC lever gun and a MARS, for me the MARS is the 'safer' design as the operation of the gun is less complicated which could become an issue if you are shooting a particularly stressful course of fire. Its also far easier to visually check whether the bolt is in the open or closed position due to the titanic ejection port which is takes up 1/4 the upper receiver (as opposed to a standard small hole on the side as per the SGC gun).

However, as has been said, at no point should any loaded rifle be pointed at anything that you're not willing to shoot. Follow that and it doesn't matter a jot whether you're holding the gun by your fingertips like its a sh!tty nappy or whether you're flicking the trigger with your tackle

Some of us shoot in tunnels where you can't always see the ejection port clearly. So in the middle of a practical rifle cof, you would need to remember if the MARS gun is charged or not.

I agree with all the comments , my point is I don't like the trigger doing any other job, and I still believe that showing how fast the Mars can fire (impressive I agree ) but it could lead to Mars and my guns being banned as we are on thin ice IMO anyways you pays your money you takes your choice

easy soloution ! you train with this rifle so that everytime you fire, you immedatly pull the trigger again
this does two things;
1/ makes the rifle ready for firing again
2/ the rifle has always a round in the chamber and you know this (just like a semi auto and treat as such )

Well I shoot in a tunnel and I'm lucky that I can always see the massive ejection port and cocking handle right in front of my eyes, that tells me either the working parts are held to the rear or that I'm made ready.

You can't miss the ejection port on a Vz, its huge!.

Plus the fact that you practice with the rifle until it's second nature and you know if its charged and how many rounds you have fired/have left in the mag.As someone else said treat it as a semi auto and you can't go wrong.
