Bisley F-Class League : NLRC

#1 Post by EagerNoSkill »

In an endeavour to promote and develop TEAM based F-Class shooting at Bisley the North London Rifle Club (NLRC) is launching a BISLEY based F-class league in APRIL 2015.
It will have 6 events over the year and is geared to fill the gaps between GB League Shoots
It will be based on team shooting with 4 Shooters + Wind Coach on a Rutland Team basis.

The primary goals are:
* Team based shooting designed to introduce and develop shooters both old and new and easier for Sporting rifles to join and get involved
* Get the juniors and new shooters involved and transfer and refine the knowledge and techniques
* Formally and informally develop coaching and wind reading in the F-Class community
* The teams may be made of various combinations (FTR / Open / Sport) for a hybrid team class
* Continue the F-Class training and shooter development
* All Bisley based clubs, regional based and "Teams of individuals" and numerous European competitors will be encourage to participate

TEAM SHOOTING : Match Structure
* Each league match will have 2 parts
Part A : SATURDAY Morning : Registration and Help / Intro’s / Team Allocation / Coach
Part B : SATURDAY Afternoon : Shooting at 300 / 600 Yards : 2 Stages (32 rounds + BO)
Part B : SATURDAY Evening : Meals and Lectures at NLRC
Part C : SUNDAY Morning : Shooting at 900 / 1000 Yards : 2 Stages (44 rounds + BO)
Part D : SUNDAY Lunch : Prize Giving and Close at NLRC

It has been structured like this to allow all participants time to travel to Bisley on the SAT morning and get back on the SUN afternoon.
We are expecting intensive support from European shooters eager to shoot F-Class.
Competitors from Germany, Holland and France, and even Italy or Spain can be expected.

Having just done the F-class course at Bisley over the weekend I'd be interested.

Well good for you but wouldn't it be nice if we had some regional shooting centres rather than every body having to travel to Bisley.
Sorry but at 64 years old my days of leaving work on a Friday and traveling down to some were like Bisley are long gone.

I used to get home quicker driving from Germany than I ever did driving from the North of England to the south.

Alpha, with respect I don't think that whinge is very helpful here. Here's your basic problem - f-class is mostly shot at long range. Your long range choices are Bisley, Diggle, Blair and Barton Road.

Of those Bisley has by far the best facilities. Where else would you put it? This is Britain - building 1000-yard ranges just isn't happening - no land!!

Well
1. I am not the NRA - I am a shooter in club using the facilities at my disposal in the region I live
2. The club and numerous members are investing plenty of time and money in F-class to promote and support
3. Try to get new members and to refresh and re-engage older shooters

So how about you direct you complaints, ire, and bitching at the appropriate authorities instead of tainting honest endeavours with your view.

As for regional shooting centres - I endorse that 100%
But the macro political environment (i.e. f'd up) / lands space / NRA disconnect / declining membership impacting NRA funding / lack of active state support
are ALL factors outside my control.

Do me favour don't post when you cant add some positive value.
So thanks for dumping your turd in our drinking bowl!

Tim, good on yer for anything that promotes 'F' - I hope it does well.

For those in the North, Diggle has 24 combined PSSA F-Class / TR comps scheduled for weekends during 2015 excluding the six days that are needed for three league rounds with over 100 F-Class competitors competing each year. Distances are every one from 300 to 1,000 yards, 700 apart.

10 of the 24 fixtures are at 800, 900, or 1,000 yards. There are also half a dozen 1,000 yard BR matches as well as a winter 600 yard series for those who lean this way and a programme of Military Rifle comps .... and more.

Members and visitors come from as far away as East Anglia and Northumberland / Cumbria / The Scottish Borders. The club F matches are run to a fairly relaxed schedule with signing-on / squadding normally after 10.00 so people can drive in from a good distance away.

The competition programme as well as other information can be found on www.diggleranges.com and click on 'Calendar'.
