New shooting range in Northants

Well after 2 years, £40k with finally won our appeal - Northants will be getting a new shooting range, just off the A43 near Silverstone circuit. The planning application means we are restricted as to noise (no more than 55db at the boundary) but with sound attenuating bunds in place noise should not be a factor (subject to measurement).



The concept is for a full electronic target range with turning, dropping and running deer targets as well as traditional standard fixed target ranges with the longest range being 100m. When we get nearer the time I'd be keen to hear anyones suggestions as to what we create, I want this to be a range for shooters so here is your chance to have a say in what and how we do things.

Great news, but not the first new range for years/decades.
A new range opened in Livingston, Midlothian last month.

100m

Rated up to .50-BMG
...& totally indoor.

Initially the site/venue HAD been put forward as the location for some of the Commonwealth Games shooting events.
When those plans were scuppered, the site owner went ahead & had the range built anyway.

WAS supposed to open last year, but a few minor delays postponed that until 2015.

No need.
Possible new range being developed in Northumberland, north of Newcastle...so still a few miles too far as Ponteland is closer for you.
