How is everyone? Haven't posted in a while, but I still lurk... I see you back there.

Okay, so 2015, a new year for shootin' says I. A new year to start from scratch and finally get one's bum into gear and enjoy the sport that I sort of do on again off again. Huzzar!
Good news, I've got two family members that want to join too, great says I, more shooty people and a family activity to boot.
Lo, the peasant (me) did contact the NRA and was blown away that the joining fee is £460-odd for each member!

May I be so bold as to state: WHAT THE FRAK, NRA!?
Can I ask, am I the only one that thinks that's disgusting? So, I need to fork out about £1,000.00 before two members can even join or handle a firearm.
Apparently it's me, though. I was informed by the NRA office that that fee is reasonable and cheap, not only that, but all their probationary courses are full.
Is that me, or is that the most stupid thing that's possible been mentioned by the NRA membership office?
I was even told to "try a local club."
Thank you for making me feel about an inch tall, NRA.
I've written to the CEO... 'cos that'll help.
It surely can't be just me that's disgusted by this?
