Sig Sauer P226 LBP

#1 Post by qws »

Hi, I have just returned from the Shooting show and seen the Sig P226 LBP. Also the K22 and the Low Mills 1911 plus a sample of the GSG 1911.

I feel the Sig was the best pistol at the show - Has anyone got one ?

I plan to purchase the Sig so have got Mike to send over a quote, just need to wait until end of March for delivery.

All comments welcome.

Adam, I have seen the thread, but I did not see anyone who has one, so was looking for people who have shot the new Sig. I understand their are approx 20 shooters out their, with another batch due to March.

How much will they run at? Considering we have a couple of 350 Euro pistols being punted out for the thick end of a grand come the "UK" spec, how much a Sig....? I'd like one, but I'm not going to pay the price of a half decent bolt gun or an original Marlin, for a plinking fun gun....
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Mike from Icon said the base P226 is £1350.00 Yes I know it's a mortgage but you just need to hold one. It will only be when we get handguns back we have any chance of getting prices down.

I am an orginal pistol owner with a Colt Python 357, S&W .38 and a Colt 1911 - Out of all the Uk LBP out their at least the Sig all Sig, a completly standard Sig only with longer barrell and coathanger. The Sig strips just like a 9MM version.

Held the K22 at the show built quality not as good, fixed barrel to the frame. The new GSG @ £495 looks and feels cheap.
So I will save for the current best of a bad bunch, but we have no choice in the UK

I had a good look at it on Friday and it does feel really nice. BUT I'm reluctant to put the money down without seeing any independent reviews or videos of it in operation and running different ammo.

From speaking to Mike there maybe some other LBP's coming along this year beretta being one of them, it also looks like the glock maybe being dropped.

I'll wait and watch with interest. Can the first gineau pig please step up. (And post some videos)

1350 quid??!!!

No, I'll not be putting one in my cabinet

600 dollars in the US, 700 Euros in Austria and Germany.

it makes no sense I know, but in the Uk we have no option but to pay or move to the USA.

In the real world of the Uk, if you want to shoot you have to pay. Mike is having to bring in the parts from the US then assemble to the UK spec and like everyone else needs to earn a living. So I still feel it's is the best pistol so far so if you want one you have to pay.

You will be going well to get a new Sig P226 for 600 dollars in America. It would also depend on the version, there are over 20 different versions of the P226. By the time they go through a few dealers to get into the UK, and they get their cut unfortunately the price goes up.
