I'm looking for somebody to put me in the parish for a load with my Steyr 1895 with a 1934 B.S.A. match barrel.
This is a back position rifle that will be shot at 900~1000 yards.
The barrel is 30" 1 in 12 twist and I thought Viht N150 coupled with a 174 Grn Sierra Match King should be a good partnership.
Thoughts please??

Re: .303 Match Rifle Load
Mick...
I'm interested /curious. what was the recommended load? I'm also curious to know,,, if you shoot this rifle in the supine position, are you not worried that you might not be able to get vertical without assistance.

You've obviously seen me in recent years trying to get up from the firing point then Jenks!Jenks wrote:Mick...

My new knee now makes it difficult to get down as well as up!
Regarding the load; I was lucky enough to meet somebody who has tried the lot but comes back each time to N140.
My load for this with a 174 Grn SMK is 41 Grn's.
