6mm BR Norma

Just waiting for my renewal to come back and have asked for the above.
So what is my choices? Would ideally like a target style with adjustable stock and longish barrel
Recommendations from those with experience of such rifles would be welcome.

Not many manufacturers cater for this excellent cartridge but Savage offer a couple of models and they do shoot very well.

They offer the 'benchrest' version in a laminate stock or the synthetic stocked LRPV.

One of our guys shot the 2014 UKBRA Factory Sporter small group at 1000 yards with his - 5.075 inches! (with a 26 inch barrel!)

Osprey Rifles often have one or two in stock.

Or you could get one made up to your spec....................would work out cheaper than the German/Swiss alternatives.

I recently made a 6.5x47 up from a "donor" Tikka 22-250 M595 rifle, used GRS stock, and a new 30" Lothar barrel. Total cost just south of £1400.........

Donor needs to be 308, 243, 22-250, anything with a 308 boltface. Or if you want new, then a Barnard action, maybe, Joe West stock.........cost around £2200.

The Savage mod 12 action is a good choice at a very good price, but the fully adjustable Palma stock whacks it up a bit. We have a mod 12 F/TR that I re-barrelled last year in 6BR, and it's incredibly accurate.

I just re-barrelled my BRNO ZKK .243 to 6br and put it in a Boyds stock , very cost effective and with the set trigger so so accurate .

German and Swiss rifles are very expensive, starting at 3 000 EUROS for SIGG, 4 000 EUROS Keppeler, Grunig and Bleiker cost even more.
Tanner production is very limited.
Schultz and Larsen is good as well.
Tikka T3 Sporter .308 might be a good choice to start with, then re-barrel. Savage will be a good choice as well.

I was reading about the Tanner made of virtually unobtanium limited production each one made by one guy at the factory and I would say the most expensive of the ones listed.
Blieker I have been looking at as well one for sale now in the UK.
The savage I have also been looking at. I like the look and style of the Barnard 07.
The FLO here recons I will get my certificate retuned in 3 weeks from Police Scotland. I wait in anticipation!!!

I have a Savage based 6BR - I built it myself out of "off the shelf" bits.

The 6br is a cracking cartridge, it's easy to load, plenty of bullet/powder choice, economical with only around 30 gr powder and accurate out to 1000yds.

I bought a Savage F12 action, new from Northwest custom parts. I ordered a Shilen select grade 1/8 prefit barrel, direct from Shilen as a personal import. A Riflebasix Sav-2 trigger direct from RB, Ken Farrell 20moa rail and a Richards microfit stock and topped it off with a Sightron S111 8-32x56.

I screwed it all together and pleased with the results.
