Jungle Carbines any experts on these please ?

Heeeeloo , with the show coming up I am still hunting a 303. Ross or SMLE and now maybe a no5.

A Ross would be my number one, but too much money £795 - £1200 ive seen them at + not too happy bout the bolt issue, as I am good at cocking things up and it could kill me !

SMLE, shot my Dad's the other week and liked it, plenty around cheaper than above

No5, seen a couple of these on the Ytube and like the look of em, but know jack about them.
All i know is lots are no4's that are hybrid into no5's ?

Any other info would be apreciated !!

I have a No5 and whilst I was a little sceptical about buying a 303 just to fill a spot, I love it.

It was cheap although it has the wrong butt on it and a varnish finish. There are several pointers as to the authenticity of a true No5. Hollowed out bolt handle, excess metal stripped away from behind the action and if you remove.the.woodwork there should be evidence of further removal of metal to keep it light. Also the model/date etc should be etched on the action and not stamped or engraved.
Once at my pooter I'll post some more info but Dromia is yer man for further info. He did have an original for sale recently!.

Excellent many thanks for this. There is one for sale but it has no serial or maker just "no5 mk1" etched on the action, looks nice though

The great thing about No5s is you dont see many on the range compared to other models.

i dont know anything about them but there are a couple on the EFD website and they are always at the bisley trade shows .

Yeah ive seen them too. Also Kirk Emmerich has a couple as well, so lots to choose from :>
