Council to Waste £1million on Gun Club
This news item caught my attention.
Re: Council to Waste £1million on Gun Club
Interesting as Comber Rifle Club is only a few miles away and has great facilities. I seem to remember when I lived there that there was a rifle range in Bangor but that it was only for ex-police but I could be wrong.
Still great to see a council wanting a community centre with a "gun club" although they probably mean rifle range - this bloke just seems miffed that democracy prevailed and he (as a former Alliance then Independent then Green Party and now Independent councillor) has been outvoted. Diddums!

No amount of money on a gun club is ever wasted!

Political Correctness is the language of lies, written by the corrupt , spoken by the inept!
Re: Council to Waste £1million on Gun Club
Thanks for pointing it OvenPaa and thought a little support to the Bangor's shooting fraternity was in order

Re: Council to Waste £1million on Gun Club
Good news for shooters , I wonder who on the council committee is a shooter , no surprise from the member of the Green party as they declared themselves anti gun ownership many years ago . Probably the budgets for health care and community centre are completely different and one has no bearing on the other any way .

As far as I'm aware... Council Tax (Sports Facilities) != National Insurance (NHS)
So that Politician is once more talking out of his arse and doesn't know the system of which he is trying to be a part of. Or he does and is being purposefully obtrusive to further his own agenda.... No wait... he's a politician, it'll be the latter.

My Comment is Awaiting Moderation...
No Doubt he will filter it out, but for those coming from here, you can see what I wrote to this particular plonker...

As a politician you should be aware that Council Tax (a portion of which goes to Sporting Facilities) Is Not National Insurance (Which funds the NHS).
As a laymen it is not a difficult concept to grasp that certain taxes go towards one sector of government, and other taxes go to another.
I would assume you know this and are being particularly obtrusive in portraying your story here, as the alternative is that you are incompetent to be working in the political sector as you have shown a lack of even basic understanding of our current government body.
For shame.

Yeh he won't allow that...
Either way, I would question how he knows it's cost taxpayers £1M, you can guarantee that's an inflated figure and secondly hindsight's a wonderful thing. Politicians waste money almost on a minute by minute basis, so this is a bit rich if you ask me.

I would have thought that, in the current state of the world that would be a good long term investment!

No politicians only think in terms of 4 years as a maximum...
An unarmed population is an easy to control population whilst they do what they want with our tax money and watch as we struggle to survive in the world they create with no recourse as they lock us out by changing the laws.
They don't think of a united 'US' (UK) verses them (rest of the world). They think in terms of an US (politicians) verses them ("servants"/countrymen).
A Well trained highly marksmen'ised public would only be seen as a threat to them, not to those wishing us ill will.
