Adam question for you.
Will the 311291 mould in .316 work in the AIA 7.62x39. My concern is that it may have feeding problems due to the boolit nose shape. What do you reckon.

Re: Adam question for you.
Don't know is the answer as I don't know how your rifle feeds.
It is an old design that was meant for bolt guns like the 03 Springfield and I have never had feeding problems with such tangent ogive designs.
I'd get a boolit with a similar nose (311284/311331/312290 not exact nose profiles but close enough) and make up some dummy rounds to the same oal as you'd use with the 311291 and see how they feed.
Why do you think it might be a problem?

Re: Adam question for you.
The original jacketed bullet is a short bullet with a pointed nose every now and again they miss feed. Its the same with cast boolits. The rifle has a feed ramp leading into the chamber the bullet can catch on the lip of the ramp and miss feed. This is one of the reasons soup cans don't work I have to single load them. I am just wondering if the round nose might be a problem. But my question was more about chamber fit I was wondering if the .316 would work better because of the results of the chamber cast.
I think I have sourced a quantity of .316 311291 so I am going to give them a try.

As I have said before you must remember that the original bullet was designed to feed through automatic firearms not bolt guns.
