Yes it will, but there are plenty of people who don't know enough and still speak with authority on the subject. If I was looking to buy one again, I would track down 2 or 3 genuine pre '45 examples and take hundreds of photos of each on a sunny day. In my experience, you have to study originals to know what to look for.

I would suggest a good place to read a huge online Enfield resource and have access to the likes of No4T expert Peter Laidler (he really knows his stuff) is over on Milsurps, join put the kettle on digest and ask questions.

Then, as has been suggested, buy some good reference material and don't even think about buying one until you are confident you know what to look for, many fakes out there ( even the correct "T" stamp has been faked!
