From the Border Barrels ashes, GB Barrels Phoenix rises...?

#1 Post by TattooedGun »

Anyone have any more information on this. I would love to say I am knowledgeable about what happened with border barrels, but frankly I have no clue, all I know is I want a top quality cut rifled barrel and these were the guys to speak to...

GB Barrels was set up 11 June 2014.

Registered address:

The Workshop Dalarran Cottage
New Galloway
Castle Douglas
Dumfries And Galloway
DG7 3PP

Daniel Brough and Dennis Groom as Directors.

No mention of Adam and Lewis in company documents, I believe these were the guys behind the tools, but feel free to enlighten me..? There is talk of Adam and Lewis "been given a great start with the machinery" over on thestalkingdirectory, but the thread seems to have been deleted, can only be read by cached version on google, however this could be due to the fact I'm not a member over there... Does that mean that this new venture has borders cutting machinery/tooling?

J R Oneil was apparently the name at Border Barrels, but left back to USA...

Can anyone fill in the blanks for me as to what happened, a lot of talk of bad decisions, but I cant see exactly what happened. Or any more information on GB Barrels and whether or not they are actively trading or just a registered limited company for now...?

any???? thankssign

I am watching with interest as well, there are lots of rumours flying around about different companies rising out of the Border ashes however quite what will happen remains to be seen...

I haven't found anything new as of yet. I tried adding one of the directors of this company via facebook and sending a message to them, but it went into their "others folder" (a folder where non friends-of-friends messages go, to stop spam) So provided they are quite normal, chances are they'll never even see the message.

As theres no other contact information, I'm at a loss as to whether I'll find out more.

As for the Adam fella who was talked about on thestalkingdirectory, turns out that it could be Adam Brough, brother to one of the new directors, Daniel. So in terms of staff, you'd hope at least Adam is in it with his Brother. Still, I await to see what comes out of it...

By the time we know more, I'll have no doubt already put the order in for my new rifle and I'll end up having to go button rifled... much as it'll annoy me as I'd much prefer to go cut rifled. With the import prices and hassle of export from the states on Kriegers, I'm not sure I'll be getting one.

Medium Palma button rifled barrels are easy enough to source over here and I would certainly not worry about something like a TrueFlite or Pac-Nor quality.

Have you thought about getting someone to send a PM asking what the status is?

I would normally offer to do this for you, but I'm not participating in that site these days.

I'm not a member on that site either. I don't have the permissions to access the page you linked to... :/

Hi all,

I don't frequent the forum boards too often, but I came across this post and wanted to say hi.

It's great to see that the word has spread and people knew our plans before us... lol. It is true that Myself Dennis Groom and Daniel Brough (My Cousin) are the directors of GB Barrels Ltd and we are producing cut rifled barrels the traditional way with our Pratt & Whitney machine. We can produce a fairly infinite array of options.

We both served many years under the Border Barrels banner and now have the chance to build a successful business 'of our own'. I am proud to say there is no outside influence to GB Barrels Ltd.

We will be supplying to the trade only, so if you would like a GB Barrel it would have to be ordered through your local gunsmith or gun shop.

Thanks and please feel free to ask questions.

Dennis - a crucial question : are you going to match or better the price of your competitors at sassen engineering?
