MAS 36 project.

#1 Post by Alpha1 »

Iv got a scope rail for the MAS36 I'm looking for a suitable scope then Im going to give it a whirl with cast boolits. I don't suppose any body has any info on cast in the
MAS 36. I got to thinking the majority of ranges I shoot over are 25 yards or maybe 100 yards. Some times 200 0r maybe 300. At the moment I reload for it with N140 using Hornady 155 grain A max bullets etc. It just seems a bit of overkill at the ranges I shoot at. Don't get me wrong it is one accurate rifle it shoots were you point it no problem. But I have all ready dragged all my casting stuff out well nearly all of it so I thought what the Hell lets give it a go. I don't know how much info is out there for the MAS in cast. Anybody teanews Im going to slug the bore to morrow to give me a starting point.

I use the Lee, 160gn 7.62x39 bullet (mould No.90361) gas checked to .309 in front of 25.5gn of Lovex DO 60.

This load produces an average MV of 1863fps and performs well in my MAS36 out 300yards.

Thanks for the info I have ordered a mould that will hopefully do the job. I will be trying others until it arrives.
