What about using a drill bit off a suitable diameter?.

Not really a good idea he wants a snug fit and may want to drift it out. A drill is not the ideal solution. Personally Id go for the roll pin option off fleabay. Actually we may even have some at work but I wont know until I go in to tomorrow. If the worst came to the worst we could make him one no problem but ovenpaa has all ready offered to machine one for him. So I'm sure by the time he is ready to do the trigger job we can sort him out.

I know exactly were the Guy in the video is coming from I have in the past worked on Winchester lever actions usually to replace lifters and one time a firing pin taking them to bits and reassembling them is interesting. Using pins to hold the action/trigger unit together whilst reassembling makes the whole job a lot easier.

Absolutely valid my friend good advice Iv used drill bits for all sorts of stuff they were not designed for. I just don't think it would work in this instance.
(But I might be wrong)

If I need an odd sized drift/pin punch I machine them from the long part of cut off ball ended Allen/Hex keys, they are quite tough to machine however they are super hard and should out last me. Yes it does sound a bit extreme however I ended up with several good quality spare keys so this way they are being used plus I always enjoy making my own tools.

Many thanks for all the info and offers, found a pack of 5 roll pins on Ebay (4x16mm) for £1.20 so ordered and on the way

Looking at the drill bit route myself,i've got an AYA cosmos stripped down at he moment so i can get the trigger worked on but the pin for the trigger is a little the worse for wear.
