New firearms minister Lynne Featherstone

#1 Post by Gaz »

As Norman Baker, Minister for Conspiracy Theories, quit the government last night, we now have a new minister with responsibility for firearms laws, Lynne Featherstone. Sadly she's also a Lib Dem, though as there's only a few months to the election hopefully she's just a placeholder and won't play silly buggers.

On the flip side, as it's only a few months to the elections and the Lib Dems will never be part of another British government in any of our lifetimes, maybe she will let ACPO wreak havoc!

To quote a phrase I use often at work, "What could possibly go wrong???"!!!

hopefully as you say she'll not be playing silly buggers

Don't underestimate the ability of politicians for creating utter mess in record short time ... Given her past-track record, Lib-Dem Lynne Featherstone seems to have all the qualities to excel at it :bad:

If we changed our name to the "Gay and Lesbian South Sudanese Anti FGM Rifle Association" I think we would be in with a chance of winning her over (but only if we fired rainbow coloured bullets)

signfunnypost and ever sooo true !!

In all seriousness I have been for a long time a firm advocate of, somehow, finding a black lesbian (transsexual would be even better) to front the British Shooting Olympic Team as the safest way to protect our sport.

best bet is finding a
black, Pakistani, one legged, single parent lesbian (transsexual would be even better) with Aids and a drug habit to front the British Shooting Olympic Team
as the safest way to protect our sport. That should cover all the bases froggy.

Although in October 2013 she did vote with the rest of the Lib Dems against a new clause in the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Bill :

"Lynne Featherstone MP, Hornsey and Wood Green voted against a presumption a firearms license ought be refused where there is substantiated evidence of violent conduct, domestic violence, mental illness or drug or alcohol abuse found in a background check on an applicant."

So it seems she doesn't mind too much if we have guns AND have a history of violence. There's hope then...
