Badger's imaginary M28/76
We're just back from the range oomans, having fired our new imaginary* Suomi M28/76 for the first time. Blighty of this parish helped us source it and a fine bangstick it is too. It's a Mosin in 7.62x54R, but with a trigger honed to perfection and a barrel produced by Sako to considerably tighter tolerances than a traditional Russian barrel. It's in a fine birch target style stock and has a set of excellent dioptre sight.
The sights were set at 300m so we wound them down to the 25 m setting (ie used up all the adjustment available) and popped a 7.64x54R surplus round in the breech. The bolt slid closed very silkily and the target was centred neatly on the foresight ring. We gently squeezed the trigger and
KABOOM !!!!
It is still a Mosin after all. :)
A hole appeared in the bull !
We chambered another round and fired again.
KABOOM !
It keyholed the first hole...
Next week we'll try it at 300 mards...
* Imaginary 'cos we don't post pictures, and if there's no picture then there's no gun according to some...

First of all illusions that you are a badger and now illusions that you have a Finish Moisin.
Maybe we should just have a fiction forum for you to post in.

And there, m'Lud, thee defence rests its case: there is nothing to link an imaginary badger that wasn't there with an imaginary gun that doesn't exist and no grassy knoll nowhere...DW58 wrote:There is nothing to link the imaginary Badger with the imaginary Sumoi M28/76 - expand the story please ... ... ...

Rare as hens teeth in these parts.
Nothing imaginary about those results. Bet it's a tack driver at 300 mards!

Re: Badger's imaginary M28/76
Looking at it again; is it possible that it was put together for biathlon shooting? (was biathlon ever shot in full-bore when the rifle was made?)
