If you read my post in its totality you would have seen that I said that the duty of vigilance has always been with us. That hasn't changed.
Terrorism in one form or another has been with us for decades.
When the IRA were at it they caused us more tragedies and outrages on our home soil than musslemen extremists have done to date. The governments of those days didn't see a need to terrorise the populace and we stayed vigilant.
I didn't say that clubs and individuals may not be a target but then that opportunity has always been there and as shooters and responsible club officials we have always been alert to it so nothing new other than the governments heightened agenda of fear which you seem to have fallen for.

So that's 3 out of how many..... It's called playing the odds. All I'm saying is a young Muslim would stand out in any of the clubs I'm a member of like a sore thumb. To be honest, any young person would :lol:Sim G wrote:Blackstuff wrote:Doesn't matter what he's wearing, he doesn't fit the demographics of a UK shooter (in my experience)
Seriously Mark? Jordan Horner, Richard Dart, Nicky Reilly? Ever heard of them?
White Anglo Saxon, British men, who converted to Islam and are terrorists. Dart is even a former PCSO and Horner has blue eyes and ginger hair! Reilly is the one who walked into an Exeter cafe and tried to blow himself and everyone else up with an IED.
Demographics? If only it was that simple....
Then there's fact that any serious terrorist would easily be able to acquire better weapons than the S1/S2 firearms available to us so why bother risking exposing yourself, either to members or by inviting the police into your life.
Just my opinion but I think terrorism has sweet FA to do with this

Concur, the risk in relation to the authorities bombast is totally disproportionate and seems to me to be driven by a different agenda.
We are more likely to to be "threatend" by ill individuals who have been failed by this countries non existent mental health services.

Point of order - if it's the same reports I've seen, it's just the usual sentries at the Tower of London, except excitable media hotheads have got their knickers in a twist because they don't normally go around there and so it's a novelty to them.MiLisCer wrote:Today we have armed soldiers in fatigues on the streets of London partroling (see today's news)
I'll give you a headsup on next week's exclusive news: Armed police walk the pavements around Windsor Castle!

Re: ACPO, terrorists, Channel 4 and us
The police in Northern Ireland never felt the need for a similar policy even with the terrorist threat. Maybe they knew that it would not stop terrorists getting firearms. I wonder what has changed. Gun club members have being targeted here and their firearms stolen, people always have being vigilant they don't need the police to tell them.
