The honest truth is they are far too busy dealing with everyday crap, I think the only time you will get a visit is when an "ex" wants revenge or you really are supplying people with something you shouldn't!

Knowing your "legal" is a comfortable feeling.

I am ready for their arrival, boxes of used cartridge cases lying around the gun cupboard to give them a bit of excitement before the reality of failure rips their souls asunder.

Eggs   good one.

Oh give it time.

Remember a few plastic genades, candles wrappedin brown paper fromthe £1.00 shop with wire or string coming out, preferably alongside your Westclox or old mobile phone and a Johnny Seven gun - let's see what "expert" they call to determine if THAT lot is safe!

In the meantime do not fall out with ANYONE who knows you have guns, is a raving liberal antigun nut or is just a spitefill pig/cow as the case may be!

I recently changed address and sent my certificate off along with a covering letter and a week later I received a letter saying that home visits for a change of address were no longer routine and could I fill in the enclosed form to confirm my security arrangements were adequate and my firearms/ammunition were stored securely and not in a cardboard box under the stairs.
I filled the form in and returned it and lo and behold my new certificate came through the letterbox yesterday..........surely this would have been the ideal opportunity to carry out a visit, have a brew and a chin-wag and as they didn't for this I can't see them going out of their way to do an unannounced visit unless there is a real good reason.

Well I am disappointed, I thought at least one of our merry band would have had the boys in blue round by now.... On a serious note, make sure you have all documentation handy for deactivated firearms, have the Home office Sec58 obsolete ammo guide handy etc ....

I can see someone getting into bother with sec58 inparticular, they will have a full on heart attack if you have a .44 Russian Smith & Wesson or Colt antique revolver in your home. sign01 troutslapping

Also, just try explaining to the Police what inert display ammo is!
