Which would probably account for why every year sportsmen in the UK have something new imposed on them or something taken away. So hows those low expectations working out for you? You keep on being realistic Dougan and watch your chosen sport disappear piece by piece slowly and surely while your precious NRA puts out statements like stiff upper lips chaps and go with the flow, mustn't rock the boat what!
But I'm not seeing anything being currently 'imposed' on me or anyone else, and far from watching my 'chosen sport disappear piece by piece slowly and surely', it's actually quite the opposite...personally I'm currently enjoying a couple of new shooting disciplines (Long Range .22 and Mini McQueen), the last Phoenix meeting had a record number of competitions shot, new practical shotgun and LBP couses of fire are being tried out, and, CSR is thriving...a discipline which is not a typically perceived 'Bisley' type of shooting; but has been fully supported by the NRA.
I think the biggest threats to my sport are lack of participation and constant moaning...

I'm not talking about new disciplines Dougan, I'm on about legal and political decisions that are taken. Stuff like the ACPO putting out their $hit that will affect sportsmen, the media putting out anti gun horror stories complete with photos of firearms of mass destruction. Police licensing authorities messing sportsmen about with excessively long wait times and interpreting HO rules to suit themselves, that and the lack of uniformity in the licensing system. Hell we read about it on here and in the Media all the time and what does the NRA do about it? They maintain a dignified silence.
As I said Dougan, piece by piece. All of the above may just go some way to explaining the lack of participation in the sport because it's becoming too much of a pain in the arse for a lot of people.

Wouldn't CSR be better with a semi auto full bore rifle?
...but what's done is done (IMO)...I just want to get on and enjoy what we have got; and genuinely feel that things aren't about to get worse (unlike some self-interested scaremongers)...
...in fact I think there is a real possibility of getting .22 pistols back, with the right government and a concerted effort...

And wouldn't a pistol be better than a LBP ?
Just saying...............
It doesn't seem to have made a great deal difference in timings for CSR between semi auto and straight pull.
Just saying.............
and the world is a much safer place thanks to the semi auto ban.................[/quote
We are the only country in Europe that bans self loading centre Fire rifles outright ! When in comes to the rest of the world except Australia the other countries that ban self loading rifles are columnist, facist dictatorship s*** ! Now why might you think that is !
Ps how does slowing me down to one round a sec on my lmt striaght pull make me safer ??
