Iirc it was in feb 2013. I've asked several times, either when at bisley, and I drilled them about it at the shooting show this year, and still, either nobody is aware, or just doesn't know.

Is the person who came to the meeting still at the NRA? And are you now asking the right people?

I've read on here that a few people have not had responses to letters they have personally sent to the NRA (which in some cases seems to make them negative about anything to do with them) - It makes me wonder why, as personally I've never had a problem getting a satisfactory answer to any queries (including complaints) I've made...sometimes you might have to follow up an email with another, or call them, but I've never had no response at all...

I have found Mercer to be selective in his responses.

He has replied to some of my emails and ignored others.

Yep. It was Mr Mercer himself.

We have recently issued a Social Media policy to staff to help ensure that their private comments are not mistaken as formal NRA statements.

Hope this is helpful

Andrew.

So are you saying that your staff are not barred in any way from commenting on shooting forums?

Regards
It's been two days and still haven't had a reply to the last question I posed to Mr Mercer.

Oh Ok - When was the last time you emailed him about the matter? - Personally I'd email him again (I find that polite, but relentless persistence works well ;) ) and 'cc' in a few others like the Liaison Officer or possibly the Head of Shooting Division...it may be that others in the organisation know much more about the SARTS issues than Mr Mercer himself...

In which case don't you agree that it would be just as easy for Mr Mercer to hand it over to the someone who does know more about it if indeed there is such a person.

Yes I agree - Which is why I've asked SwampD when he last emailed...his previous post suggests that the last time he inquired it was verbally at a meeting...

...it may be that he has simply forgotten about it (not good but frequent in most businesses)...I can't see any reason why SwampD shouldn't be able to get an answer to his inquiry.

Dougan,
.it may be that he has simply forgotten about it
Yeah you could be right, he's probably just forgotten to reply to the email I sent as well. He does seem to forget a lot though doesn't he? Could be it's time for him to make use of some of the mobile technology that's widely available in order to jog his memory later

I've just re-read the mails you sent...maybe he felt he'd answered you adequately the first time.....

Btw: are you a member of the NRA?

I've just re-read the mails you sent...maybe he felt he'd answered you adequately the first time.....
And maybe I felt that his answer wasn't adequate and didn't address the question. Maybe I felt that the answer he gave was evasive.
Btw: are you a member of the NRA?
Well being that I shoot that question shouldn't even come into it but to answer your question in a non evasive way, yes I am.
