Recommend me a Gunsmith in the North West

#1 Post by EDnSKY »

HI all,

At long last it seems my .308 Remington SPS Varmint has landed in the country party2

I will need to get the barrel screw cut to fit the moderator that I have acquired so can anyone recommend a good Gunsmith in the North West?

I am knocking about in Bolton.

IF you mean landed as in, just imported, then get the importer to send it to the folk that normally thread their guns for them (Riflecraft)

Best specify the thread you want though as otherwise they'll do it 5/8x18....I much prefer 5/8x24 as it ties in with the American made accessories much better

Hi Saddler,

My mistake, it is on it's way to my local RFD apparently. I ordered it non screw cut as I wasn't sure what spec moderator to buy.

If you're in Bolton Gun Club, ask for Dave Mercer's contact details from the club sec. I've not used him myself, I got my Remington done by Dave at Valkyrie.
