When Marlin held the line against a Japanese invasion

First I have heard of Marlins used in this fashion. I have seen photos of Winchester 94s with Canadian property marks from that era. Full metal jacket .30-30 rounds are also encountered that were issued for this force. I have read to never use FMJ bullets in tube magazines as even with a flat point or round nose the hard jacket can set off the primer in the round in front. I wonder if this ever happened to the users of these carbines?
