Crimping can be a necessity, for example ammunition to be used in fully auto rifles (I wish!) or "cowboy" type under-lever rifles due to the "nose to tail" magazine tube arrangement.

Do the RCBS hand primers take Lee shell holders?

RCBS hand primers take standard shell holders including Lee whereas the older Lee hand priming tool do not just to confuse matters

Are you planning on using military surplus brass? if not you don't need the de-capping bases or primer pocket reamers etc. you can usually pick up once fired RWS 308 brass at Bisley for as little as £10/100 it's excellent quality.
Don't need the Zip trim, use a cordless drill
Don't need the powder scoops, use the Perfect Powder Measure (very consistent) and the trickler if required
I only use 3 dies per calibre for 300 and 308, Full length size, bullet seater and factory crimp
Get a Lee universal de-priming die Lee no. 90292
If you're getting the breech lock press then yes, it's 1 bushing for each die and they come in packs of 2
Get the RCBS Universal hand primer, more expensive but a huge step up in quality and doesn't need shell holders

You could get the Ultimate die sets instead of a separate Collet die if you must have them, probably works out cheaper.
