The Proof House have confirmed they do have Proof ammunition for the Blackout and can therefore undertake testing in the normal way although the .300BLK is a grey area. I have also contacted Viking, updated them and asked them to bring a handful in for me.

As an aside, what do you do with this cartridge?
And it is a very nice looking gun!

For me mainly indoor 25m subsonic using a 123gr "soupcan" cast boolit or the odd bit of outdoor range with a 168gr Nosler CC bullet. Very nice calibre to shoot, cheap as chips to load for 25m (3.4gr of N310)

Also a good very quiet small game/varmint round with a mod fitted, with a 230gr bullet subsonic produces about 500+ ft-lbf

Wiki tells us:

300 AAC Blackout, SAAMI short name 300 BLK, also known as 7.62×35mm is a rifle cartridge developed in the United States by Advanced Armament Corporation (AAC) for use in the M4 carbine. Its purpose is to achieve ballistics similar to the 7.62×39mm Soviet cartridge in an AR-15 platform while using standard AR-15 magazines at their normal capacity.

It is also perfectly suited for subsonic work and as stated makes for a lovely little 25/50m rifle as well.

Did Viking give any indication on pricing?

Have to say the rifle does nothing for me looks wise however the the round is a fine cast boolit cartridge up there with the 303 pygmy and the 7.62 x 39 so as such the rifle has some merit. In fact enough for me to have some on order.

Of course not! I have asked a second supplier to look into sourcing a handful as well and I have a good idea of which one will be cheapest.
