I'm not talking temporary membership. No reason they can't be full members for a quid or whatever (maybe share of insurance cost or non-member cost of NRA affiliation). If they have an FAC and are members of another club it would only mean a bit of extra paperwork by a willing volunteer (ie hard working club sec) but would solve the problem.
Lots of people are members of more than one club - it would just be the money side that would be the problem that would be need to be sorted.
Also would the authorities accept affiliated club membership (ie all the other clubs affiliate to the booking club) or all the clubs join forces to form an association/new club which then becomes the booking club? Probably worth asking this question.
Oh and before anyone thinks I have said something NRA-official as I'm married to IainWR and am on General Council, these views are my own based on my previous involvement in how we managed club bookings on MoD ranges in Northern Ireland in the 1990s. I have not heard anything about this issue before. It has been pointed out to me that if I comment on anything on here then you might think I was discussing official NRA business - I hope you are all more intelligent than that.

At Altcar you pay the Warden (via Landmarc) and provide the sentries. They'll have us cutting the grass next.
This is not new, each club using an MOD range needs a licence to use that range issued by DIO.
Section 4 says no person who is not a member of the Club shall fire a weapon with out permission of said officer that officer being secretary of state, range commandant or any other authorised officer.
This applies to the police as well as the licence has a line through police force.
Depending on how many ranges you use you can need more than 1 licence. I have to get 2 licences each year
1 covers Barton Road, STANTA, Fingringhoe & Middlewick
1 to cover Thetford ranges
They both cost different amounts and issued through 2 different commands not landmark.
This is why clubs are not allowed to share bookings.
