myHermes won't take firearms (weapons), Royal Mail and Parcel Force will as will TNT.
Arming the Country, one gun at a time.

Good deals with Paul101, Charlotte the flyer, majordisorder, Charlie Muggins, among others. Thanks everybody.

How will you send your Kroil?
myHermes, and Royal Mail both say it is prohibited.

He drinks it first....
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

Pretty sure TNT does not offer compensation, RM and the Farce does.

Only problem is olde-worlde attitudes & fear of the unknown

A BIG firm I get leather from are about to switch exclusively to Hermes as they've noticed a HUGE drop in Royal Mail PLC standards and a polar opposite change in PLC prices...
Voting with their cheque book & giving RM PLC the archers salute

It IS the way things will go...market forces at work: adapt or die
MyHermes is not that fast nor cheap to be honest and that is why I keep using our courier for non firearms stuff.

This is for a parcel between 2-5 kg.
If we need more than £50 compensation, eg £100 then we add £2.20 to the parcel price of £5.48 and of course we need a signature so another £1, it is just like Ryanair tongueout

Total at this stage is £8.68

That is actually close to the price we pay with our courier, standard compensation is £60, weight limit is 30kg and it is a 24 hour delivery service.

I understand that people out there think they being ripped off, but do they also refuse to pay or moan such huge amounts about paying £20 for a meal in a restaurant that cost maybe £5 to put together.

you order the bits, postage is displayed, buy or dont buy. you have the choice

I know the feeling though, I went on a website yesterday for 2 springs for the auto open bootlid on my car, think they were 97p each, but get to checkout and once they added carriage and then vat to the lot, over £10, so I swallowed hadr and closed the screen LOL, will just lift the bootlid myself in future like I have for a while :)

MyHermes is far too slow for my liking. I like the idea behind it, but it's just not fast enough sadly.

Looking at moving to DPD, as I've had brilliant service from them on the receiving end (realtime delivery tracking when its out for delivery, being sent a text to tell me an hours time window, ability to reply with special instructions of where to leave the parcel etc) just need to weigh up the costs, and sort out how I'll handle the collections as my shop is my part time business, while I work 60 miles away in London...
