They have loads of them in stock now.
Re: Remington 700 recall
Cool.
Just phoned them as the e-mail I'd sent in May seemed to have not been opened by the right person

Re: Remington 700 recall
Well...had assurances on the phone last Thursday from Riflecraft that they'd contact my local RFD straight away to correct their lack of interest to date...
Called into the RFD today....zero contact from anyone at Riflectaft as of today.
Not impressed...especially as fitting a new trigger, if they dropped one into a Jiffy bag, is a 5 minute job at best; be a hell of a lot easier then all this p1ss1ng people off by NOT doing what they'll be getring a hefty fee to do!!

Re: Remington 700 recall
Wow :goodjob: my rifle back today, a 2 week turn around now fitted with a adjustable trigger (not like the non adjustable standard one with heavy pull)
Big thanks to Roding Armoury for shipping arrangements, and to Riflecraft for the work.

Is this recall still happening?
Mate just picked up a VLS and it has the smooth XMP trigger.
How does he tell if the work was completed?
Far as he knows the previous owner is deceased.

Lots of info online saying what to look for.
From memory there's s punch mark on the updated trigger
The UK recall was only for the old original (pre-XMP) trigger
Re: Remington 700 recall
Recall is still in effect. Riflecraft are carrying out the work, including paying for shipping from the senders RFD and the return. Serial number ranges of affected rifles can be checked here; http://xmprecall.remington.com
If it falls into the "need" of a recall, a call to Riflecraft will confirm if the warranty work has been carried out or not.

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Re: Remington 700 recall
You are lucky. Here in NZ repeated contacts with the importer and all I get is "Go to the website". Unfortunately as I have already registered mine as being subject to the recall, that website won't tell me anything except that I have registered. So it's a big circular argument. Absolutely crap service.
On the other hand, my rifle has never exhibited any of the symptoms that the recall is supposed to fix, so I may just leave well-enough alone and one of these days buy and fit an aftermarket Timney or some other quality trigger.
