What I do when scoping Enfields is I have spare buttstocks with cheek risers fitted that I put on for shooting and have the original for when i want move the gun on.

It is also worth keeping an eye out for a Parker Hale sporting butt that they used on their conversions and was fitted to 6mm Musgraves, Slazengers, Enforcers and the like.

That sounds like a perfect solution...I'll keep my eye out for a suitable spare buttstock :good:

Purists! :55: them. When they start paying for the guns for me to own and use then they can have a say, until that day :55: them.

Blu
Shhh! :squirrel: ( razz ) - I bought the rifle from a well known Scottish RFD...and was given a good deal...if I bugger the rifle up, I may not get such a good deal in the future ;)

PM me your address

Seem to have about three spare buttstocks here that are getting in the way
You can have one f.o.c. as I'll be glad to see it put to some use

May need to see a pic of the rifle to try to get a close approximation colour/grain wise

Thanks for the link David :good: - As it happens I've been offered a suitable one, but I'll keep the link, as the other spares are reasonable as well.

Thanks Saddler; that's a generous offer  - But as I've just said to David, someone has already offered me one...

Fultons at Bisley has a box full of old Enfield butts of various profiles (issue, Monte Carlo, sporting, etc). I don't think they're asking a huge amount for them either.

It would be the exception to the rule!
