NRA chief taken away by police

#1 Post by the running man »

Is there any truth to the story of andrew mercer being taken away by police at the phoenix for having a go at a trade stall owners wife who was parked in his spot? Is it also true he was officially cautioned? Or just "recorded"...... And if it is true why has he not yet resigned?

Phoenix ended over two months ago. I had a couple of friends who exhibited there and more who shot. First time I've heard of that....
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Crikey, that does not sound good. I did hear the police attended an incident at the Phoenix however I did not get to hear of any details.

Pretty sure we'd have heard about this by now if it were true!

On Thursday I was over at an RFD who had a stall at Phoenix and she conveyed the story me, allegedly his behaviour was fairly disgusting. He kicked of at a woman who had parked in a spot in the car park that was restricted. I get the impression as conveyed to me that it was not exactly obvious and could of been dealt with in a calm and mature manner.

The RFD was also fairly angry about the treatment of people trading at the show and the costs. Apparently for the same price she paid for Phoenix she could of had more then one stand at the CLA.

Well I wasn't there but that was the story as conveyed to me. Hence I use the word "allegedly".

I doubt the accuracy of this statement, having read the minutes of the NRA BGM and the discussion over trade tent charges at The Imperial.

I would have expected any incident of the sort reported in the OP to have been brought up at the AGM and/or BGM, but nothing appears in the minutes of either.

It does seem there are a few people (some of them NRA members) out to cause trouble for Mr Mercer and I wonder if these rumors are part of that?

Unless people in this thread would like to name the source(s) of their information, I think we need to take it with a pinch of salt.

Only conveying what I was told, not taking any sides.
