What are they like compared to an SMLE?

Are they a practical historic?

I really like the look of them and fancy one for my historic rifle.

They are fine sporting rifles, I have taken reds with mine and the odd gong at the running deer.

They tend to prefer flat based bullets and just love cast.

They are relatively common and I turn over a few each year, there are always customers for nice ones, you do need to check barrel condition and have a good idea what you are looking at.

This is one of mine and a fine shooter.

Comparing it to an SMLE is a bit like comparing apples and oranges as the SMLE is battle rifle and the Lee Speeds are sporters.

The conversions on the Ross action are also fine rifles in 303 if you are into sporting conversions.

They are one of the sexiest looking rifles going aren't they?

I sort of have one, BSA but not Lee-Speed marked. Mine is the utility grade version but still and all a great shooter!
