I think you are mistaken on that one Sim or at least in this case as the ship would probably be sailing under another flag so U.K. law would not apply. International maritime law is even more confusing and complex than our own firearms legislation so probably not worth investigating that line of thinking. In any case no one is going to entirely relinquish control of their firearms as they would surely retain the keys to the locking devices within the car that secure the guns to the vehicle.
